The students of Interior and Spatial Design at Novia UAS were assigned to plan the scenography for the RUSK festival in Jakobstad, Finland. The theme of the year was breaking waves. We worked in teams to precent different alternatives to the producers of the festival. The winning contribution was modified and developed into this creation.
Our vision was to create reflections, like on water, with a wave made of hundreds of CD´s. The light reflecting the installation creates beautiful effects all over the stage, giving a dreamy feeling to the audience. All the CD´s were recycled and were donated after the festival to artists. The concerts were broadcasted on the Finnish national television YLE.
